Alicja Pacewicz is Co-President of the IUS Council and co-founder of the Center for Civic Education, one of Poland’s leading NGOs promoting democratic and civic values. A long-time educator and social activist, she develops nationwide educational programs and trains teachers in civic competence and participatory learning. In 2011, President Bronisław Komorowski awarded her the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta for her democratic opposition work under communism.
